A Fall Furnace Tune-Up Catches Problems Before Winter Does
Your furnace has sat quiet since last spring. Before it runs for months straight, a tune-up finds the small issues while they're still small, including the one you can't see or smell on your own: carbon monoxide. Book it now and skip the January scramble.
How a furnace tune-up works with Aero
1
We ask how last winter went
Cold rooms, a burning smell at startup, a furnace that took a few tries to light. What you noticed tells us where to look hardest.
2
We run the safety checks first
Carbon monoxide test, heat exchanger, and venting, before anything else. These are the findings that change what happens next, so they don't wait until the end of the visit.
3
We inspect, clean, and calibrate
Burner and ignition, blower and electrical, filter, airflow, and thermostat. The full list is below.
4
You get a plain-language report
What we found, with photos where they help. If a repair is needed, you get a separate written price and decide before we do anything beyond the tune-up.
What's included in a furnace Tune-Up?
Carbon monoxide test, furnace and home
We test for CO at the furnace and in your living spaces, not just one or the other.
Heat exchanger inspection
We check for cracks or corrosion that could let exhaust mix with your air.
Burner and ignition check
The burner and ignition system are inspected, cleaned, and adjusted as needed.
Flue and venting inspection
We confirm exhaust is actually leaving the home the way it should.
Thermostat calibration check
We make sure your thermostat is reading and signaling accurately.
Electrical and blower check
Connections are tightened, and we test amp draw on the blower motor.
Air filter check
We inspect your filter and recommend replacement if it's due.
Airflow and ductwork check
We look for obstructions affecting airflow through your system.
Plain-language report
You get a full write-up of what we found, with photos where useful.
Signs it's time to replace instead of repair
The furnace is old and repairs keep adding up
A cracked heat exchanger
Rooms heat unevenly no matter what you try
Rising gas or electric bills with no other explanation
You're already replacing ductwork or doing a renovation
The furnace is past the age where parts are easy to find
If any of these sound familiar, it's time to call
Systems rarely fail without warning. Catching it early is almost always cheaper than an after-hours repair.

Pricing and estimates
Tune-up pricing is straightforward and quoted up front, with no add-on surprises. If we find a repair need during the visit, you'll get a clear price for that work separately before we do anything beyond the scope of the tune-up. Ask about our Aero 360 Plan for scheduled tune-ups included as part of a membership.
Why fall is the right time for this
A furnace tune-up done in September or October catches problems while the weather is still mild and scheduling is flexible. Wait until the first cold snap and you're competing with every other homeowner whose furnace failed the same week, right as search volume for furnace repair climbs toward its December to February peak. A fall tune-up also means any parts on backorder get resolved before you actually need the heat, not during the coldest week of the year.
